Sizes go by age, and age lies
In children's clothing the size isn't a letter: it's an age, and age lies. An eight-year-old may wear the ten comfortably while another in the same class wears the six. If the order is for a group, it's worth asking what size they wear now — not their age — and, when in doubt, going up: a sweatshirt that's slightly big gets worn for two winters, and one that's too small gets worn for none.
What can go on them
We work with certified cotton and water-based inks whenever the supplier offers them, which is what matters on a garment that will be against a child's skin all day and washed a great deal. The print is washed inside out at 30°C, like an adult's, and lasts as long as the garment does.
The design size isn't an adult T-shirt's
A size-four garment has far less chest than an adult one, so artwork designed for a medium swallows the whole thing. The designer shows the real size in centimetres on the size you pick, which is how you avoid the surprise when the box is opened.

What people ask before ordering
- Do you take orders for a school or parents' association?
- Yes, and for larger quantities it's better to ask for a quote than to use the basket: the price is better and we check the design before running the batch.
- Can I put each child's name on?
- Yes. Each name is a separate design, so if there are many we prepare them from your list. For a group the usual setup is the same crest for everyone and a small name.
- Can we mix children's and adult sizes?
- Yes. It's the norm when the team has coaches, or when the whole family wants the same one. They go in the same order.
- Does it shrink in the wash?
- Cotton shrinks a little the first time, and on a child's garment it shows more because there's less room. Cold water and no hot tumble drying, and it lasts the whole season.
